Khan's Castle

Got a birthday coming up soon and was looking at dictionaries for that. I want a large one, what I once thought of as an unabridged one, but after looking around, it would appear that the only one of those is really something like the OED. Well, the full-sized one of those is a little bit more than I'm after, but failing that, the choices are broad. I'm thinking that the Shorter Oxford English Dictionary will wind up being the one. It seems quite nice and the reviews on it are very good. The Chambers Dictionary is one that appears to have a devoted following as well.
